PATA UK welcomes Australian news
Janice Kurrle, Australia Spokesperson for PATA – UK & Ireland Marketing Manager – South Australian Tourism Commission welcomed the news of an easing of border restrictions.
Earlier today she commented "Possibly one of the last destinations to open in the Pacific Asia region but as a long lead destination it’s important for us to keep supporting our Australia stakeholders in the promotion of the destination and educating agents planning customer trips for 2022 and beyond. And with today’s news it’s a positive step in the reopening of Australia’s borders, with the timing having been brought forward by almost a month as Australia’s vaccination rates hit targets faster than anticipated. While travel will not immediately be open to foreigners, it’s encouraging to know the Australian government is working towards welcoming tourists back, which brings positive news for the travel industry."
