King Juan Carlos I of Spain has awarded one of the most important orders of Spain to TUI CEO Dr Michael Frenzel according to an announcement made in August.
The Order of Civil Merit was presented to TUI CEO Frenzel on August 18 in the framework of a visit paid by Joan Mesquida Ferrando, Spanish Secretary of State for Tourism, to TUI AG in Hanover.
Mr Mesquida Ferrando and Mr Frenzel had previously discussed the current and future situation of tourism in Spain. TUI AG with its tour operators and hotel participations is Spain’s key tourism partner. Last year more than seven million holidaymakers travelled to Spain with TUI.
Prior to awarding the order, Secretary of State Mesquida Ferrando had met Stephan Weil, Lord Mayor of the regional capital of Hanover.
