A pilot was forced to abort a landing at Manchester Airport because cabin crew were brawling in the aisle with a drunk female passengers.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Lynn Grimes, 41, who works in the tourism industry in Grreece, had drunk four airline-size bottles of wine before the easyJet flight from Athens to Manchester.

As she had a fear of flying, she had been invited to sit at the rear of the plane with the cabin crew, but shortly before landing she was asked to return to her seat. When she refused, a scuffle broke out between the cabin crew, Grimes and other passengers.

The pilot decided it was unsafe to land until she was properly seated.

Grimes, who denied deliberately attacking anyone, was given a suspended eight-month prison sentence by Manchester Crown Court and ordered to do 60 hours of community service.
