The Mexican-based ecotourism website Planeta.com is to host a conference on ‘NGOs in Tourism and Conservation’ from 22 October to 8 November 2002.

The conference will examine the role of non-profits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the tourism and conservation cultures. Participants will review how these players interact with business and government. Two of the immediate products of the conference will be an index of ngo/non-profit players and a public archive.

Co-sponsors of the event include ECOCLUB.com, International Centre for Ecotourism Research, Latin America Bureau, Rainforest Alliance, Sustainable Sources and TravelMole.com.

Registration is free, but active participation is limited to those with two years of experience working with or within NGOs. Students and others new to the field are welcome to listen.
Register for the Conference by sending a blank email to: [email protected]
