Playboy’s back in Vegas
For the first time in more than two decades, a new Playboy Club is opening later this week at the Palms Casino resort in Las Vegas.
Said Christie Hefner, daughter of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner:
“An entertainment destination such as ours that integrates gaming, a club, food and beverage and merchandise is the next logical step in a market where 50% of revenues now come from non-gaming sources.
The $15 Club on the 52nd floor of a new tower at the Palms has nine blackjack tables and a roulette wheel. Women dealers and cocktail waitresses who wear bunny outfits work in an atmosphere that includes a Playboy sign made of 10,000 diamond-shaped crystals.
Unlike the old Playboy Clubs, no membership key is required but there’s an admittance charge. At its peak, Playboy had almost two dozen clubs around the world with one million key holders.
Founder Hugh Hefner has said there will be other new clubs opening in the future.
