P&O Ferries criminal investigation underway
A criminal investigation has begun over the actions of P&O Ferries, alongside a separate civil investigation. They will look at the conduct of the company after it sacked nearly 800 crew without any notice.
The Insolvency Service said it ‘initiated both formal criminal and civil investigations.’ During a grilling by MPs P&O Ferries CEO, Peter Hebblethwaite admitted P&O Ferries knowingly refused to consult with unions.
TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said the investigation must not ‘shy away from serious sanctions and big financial penalties’
