P&O Ferries launches free booze cruises

P&O Ferries has launched free booze cruises for customers who spend a minimum of £250 in one of two French wine warehouses.

The offer is valid for both day trips and short breaks, depending on how much customers spend.

The ferry operator has partnered with Majestic Wine in Calais, which is offering free day-return ferry crossings to customers who pre-order at least £250 of wine online. Customers who spend at least £350 online are entitled to a free 72-hour mini-break. The wine is collected on the return leg.

P&O has also partnered with The Calais Wine Store in Calais, which is offering free return crossings without pre-orders, but passengers must spend a minimum of £250 in store or £500 for a short break, otherwise their credit card will be charged.

P&O Ferries says the cost of a bottle of wine is at least £4 cheaper in Calais as it is not subject to UK alcohol tax. It has up to 23 sailings a day between Dover and Calais.
