Police investigate rape claim in popular Spanish resort
Police are investigating claims a British tourist was raped after being ambushed by a group of men in Mallorca.
It has been reported that the 22-year-old woman was on holiday on the Spanish island and had been on a night out in the tourist resort of Port d’Alcudia, when she was attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Civil Guard on the Balearic island, who is leading the investigation, said they are searching for two suspects, who are non-Spanish nationals.
According to the Mirror, police said the alleged victim had just left a popular nightclub and was walking among some pine trees when she saw a group of men inside a car.
Moments later she claims she was grabbed by two of the men and while one man held her down, the other raped her.
