Port Canaveral touts record year for cruise traffic
Port Canaveral announced all-time record cruise traffic last year, up 7.7% .
It handled a ‘historic’ 4,568,431 cruisers during the fiscal year which ended in September 2018.
"These historic achievements are affirmation that the course we’ve charted for our port is a good one," said Port Canaveral CEO Captain. John Murray.
The port welcomed an additional 327,489 cruise passengers compared to the previous 12 months.
Disney Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean all sail from the port year-round.
New deployments include Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas next year and the port announced it will welcome the world’s largest passenger cruise ship in 2020.
Two of Disney Cruise Line’s three new upcoming cruise ships will homeport in Port Canaveral in the coming years.
Port CFO Mike Poole said the port earned $103.75 million in total revenue for FY2018.
