Portman Travel to share Blackrock account
UK-based Portman Travel is among the lead travel management companies that will handle the business travel for major investment management firm Blackrock after the account was awarded to RADIUS.
Global travel company RADIUS announced it had won the account for Blackrock which claims £1.046 trillion in assets following its recent merger wit Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
The lead RADIUS travel companies for the BlackRock account are RADIUS Ovation Travel Group in the US and RADIUS Portman Travel in the UK, along with RADIUS travel management companies in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore.
Brian Ostrowe, managing director at BlackRock and head of corporate services, said: “The global agency sourcing process presented many viable alternatives, but in the end the BlackRock Global Travel Council was impressed by RADIUS’ ability to understand our requirements and present a comprehensive and scalable solution”.
RADIUS president and chief executive officer Tony Hughes said: “It is extremely exciting for us to be global partners with BlackRock. They are leaders in their field and with this award RADIUS continues to reap the benefits of providing exceptional service and creating a new standard in the quality of value delivered, which puts us at the top of our game as well.”
