Posters can’t stay on New York Subway
Thefts of Bahamian ad posters in New York City have become so popular that complimentary copies are being offered.
Numerous thefts have stemmed from the Bahamas’ new advertising signs that have internet bloggers saying they are artistic collector’s items.
The ads encourage residents to “Escape Everyday Life.” The humorous billboards encourage New York subway riders to practice vacation activities including a demonstration of how to turn subway seats into a hammock by lying down and how to fly-fish for trash using chewing gum and a scarf.
The signs have dominated Pennsylvania Station and will continue to be on display through March.
There are nearly 80 different panels.
Anyone interested in a free poster can simply make a request to the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
