Premier Holidays to sell ski packages in winter push for Canada
Premier Holidays is to offer ski holidays to Canada for the first time after seeing a surge in bookings for the destination.
Its 2019 brochure also features other winter activities, including ice climbing, a medicine trail snowshoe tour, helicopter dog sledding in Mont Tremblant and sleigh rides in Banff.
The new brochure has also given more space to self-drive holidays, with both car and motorhome options available. New self-drive tours include the 14-night Totem Peaks independent tour of Western Canada, a four-night Discover Haida Gwali side trip, a seven-night Wonders of Alaska self-drive, and a nine-night In The Footsteps of Yukon Pioneers tour.
It has also added a nine-night Rocky Mountaineer Canadian Rockies Circle rail and coach tour along with a Glacier Bay National Park cruise.
The operator said its 2018 bookings for Canada were 21% up year on year, so it’s trying to encourage visitors go in the less popular months.
Canada product manager Tim Greathead: "We’ve experienced a huge demand for Canada this year, and there is increasingly less availability for popular periods such as spring and summer. For 2019, we’ve unveiled a selection of winter options as a way to encourage clients to discover Canada in this season."
