Priceline says it is first to offer guaranteed lower price
Priceline.com is now offering a cash back guarantee on its “Name Your Price” bidding service. Find a better bargain up until midnight the night before check-in and the company will match the price and pay you $25, the company says.
“Nobody out-deals The Negotiator. Nobody. How sure am I? So sure, I’m going to make you a special promise and it applies to every priceline.com booking you make. No strings attached. Priceline.com claims to be the first major online reservation service to feature such a guarantee,” says spokesman William Shatner.
If customers find a lower price up until midnight the night before you check-in, priceline will match that price and give consumers $25 back. One-star hotels are excluded, but the deal extends to airline tickets, rental cars, cruises, vacation packages, tours and attractions.
The lower rate must be found online (including Web sites operated by priceline.com, other travel Web sites and hotel supplier sites) for the same number of rooms and room type at the same hotel as booked through priceline for the same check-in and check-out dates. The lower rate found must also have a comparable cancellation policy.
Under what Priceline calls the “BIG DEAL” guarantee, if customers find a published price online for the exact same product and itinerary within 24 hours, the company will either cancel your reservation so users can rebook at the lower price or receive a fund of 100 percent with the difference.
“For customers with U.S. billing addresses, we’ll also throw in a coupon for $50 off your next booking of a 2-night or longer Priceline Vacation Package,” the company says.
