Prime Minister ‘banned from airport duty-free shop’

Tuesday, 02 Sep, 2014 0

David Cameron has been banned from buying duty-free – at an airport in the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok.

A sign written in English and posted outside a shop at the international gateway says the UK prime minister and several other western leaders, including US president Barack Obama and German chancellor Angela Merkel, won’t be served.

The sign was posted on Instagram by writer Michael Idov, who told i100 that it was unlikely to have been installed without the approval of the airport authorities.

It appears to be in response to European leaders threatening further sanctions against Russia if she fails to withdraw forces from Ukraine within a week.
