Prince Harry backs Warrior Games
Prince Harry will be attending the 2013 Warrior Games from May 11-16 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The organisers have announced this week that the prince will be attending the opening ceremony, volleyball competition and cycling competition at the U.S. Olympic Training Centre.
About 260 ill and injured service members will compete at the fourth annual Warrior Games.
The five US armed forces teams, joined by a Great Britain squad, will compete in a range of sports including volleyball, cycling, shooting and wheelchair basketball.
Colorado Springs has hosted the games since their inception at the US Olympic Training Centre and U.S. Air Force Academy in the city.
As well as hosting the Warrior Games, the U.S. Olympic Training Complex is the flagship training venue for the U.S. Olympic Committee.
The U.S. Air Force Academy has 4,000 cadets in training at its campus and is one of the largest tourist attractions in Colorado Springs, attracting more than a million visitors every year.
Located an hour south of Denver, Colorado Springs is home to the famous Garden of the Gods state park and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.
