Princes launches newest ship with Texas-sized amenities
Grand Princess set sail on its first cruise from Galveston. The cruise line said it was the largest, newest and most amenity-filled ship to sail from the Texas port.
Amenities include a poolside film screen featuring “Movies Under the Stars,” a new premium Sterling Steakhouse and an Asian-inspired spa.
“Galveston is a strong addition to our program, and offers our passengers a distinctly different cruise option,” said Jan Swartz, senior vice president of customer service and sales, Princess Cruises.
“Not only is the homeport itself a great place to begin or end a cruise, we’re offering a fantastic new itinerary and a very convenient option for Texas and our western US passengers,” she added.
The 2,600-passenger Grand Princes is offering 22 roundtrip departures from Galveston between now and next 9 April.
Stops include Belize, a new port for Princes; Costa Maya in Mexico; and Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
The Princess also offers the only week-long, four-port itinerary from Galveston, according to the cruise line.
