Princess Cruises brings second ship to UK

Princess Cruises is to more than double capacity sailing from the UK next summer by deploying two ships in Southampton.

The US line makes its UK debut this year with cruises from the south coast port on 1,900-passenger Sea Princess.

Next year the company is to offer 2,600-passenger Golden Princess alongside Sea Princess to offer an expanded range of itineraries in Europe.

The two ships are to offer 14 sailings on 11 itineraries ranging from seven to 16 days between April and September 2006, according to online cruise news service Seatrade Insider News.

Golden Princess will run 10-day cruises around the British Isles, Norway and western Europe. Sea Princess will feature 14-night sailings to the Norwegian fjords, Spitsbergen and Iceland, and two week-long voyages to Spain.
