Paul Wiseman – Managing director, Trafalgar

1.     When did you get started in the Travel industry?  1983.

2.     What was your first job?  Junior domestic travel consultant and brochure stamper in a suburban retail travel agency.

3.     First freebie famil?  Viva holidays to Thailand…wow what a trip!

4.     Favourite holiday destination?  Tuscany in Italy

5.     What would you be doing do if you hadn’t got started in travel?  In absence of enough sporting talent to drive F1 racing cars or be a champion golfer I would almost certainly be in the music business, probably as an unemployed musician but in the business non-the-less!

6.     Favourite music?  Rock!

7.     What book did you last read?  The Omega Scroll.

8.     Aisle or window seat?  Window definitely, it amazes me that people miss the amazing sights out of the window of an airplane by staring up the aisle.

9.     Favourite pastime outside of work?  Travelling, which is part of work anyway (that’s what makes this industry so much fun), golf, dinner with friends and window shopping for things I cannot afford.

10. First website you log onto each day?  www.trafalgar.com of course!

11. Best moment of your career to date?  Being promoted to managing director of Trafalgar.

12. Biggest problem facing the industry?   The biggest problem in our industry is lack of certainty, none of us today know what our job will be tomorrow, but we live in hope it will be the same or better and, thank God, for  the last few years it has been!
