Pub giant director joins Flybe Board
Flybe has appointed Liz McMeikan as a non-executive director.
She replaces David Longbottom, who has decided to retire at the end of this month after nearly nine years on the airline’s Board.
McMeikan will join Flybe’s Remuneration and Nomination Committee, and take over as chair the Remuneration Committee from September, following Longbottom’s departure.
McMeikan is senior independent director at pub giant JD Wetherspoon and chairs the Remuneration Committee at Unite Group.
She is also a non-executive director at Fresca Group, a £365m private business, and chairman of the Moat Housing Association.
McMeikan spent her early career at Colgate-Palmolive and then at Tesco, establishing Tesco Express and being appointed stores board director for change management and human resources.
"The Flybe Board continues its transition," said chairman Simon Laffin.
"Liz McMeikan is yet another strong addition to the Board, together with Sir Timo Anderson, who joined as a non-executive director in May, and Philip de Klerk, who will take up the position of CFO later this month."
