Putting off trips will cost you more later: experts say
Travel experts are saying while it was better before to wait for lower prices don’t procrastinate any longer because it likely won’t pay off.
"I’d strongly recommend against it,” Bryan Saltzburg, general manager of initiatives for the online travel agency TripAdvisor, told the St. Petersburg Times.
Their outlook:
• The average price of the cheapest domestic ticket for this month was up 12 percent from a year earlier, according to Bob Harrell, a consultant. He suggests being aware of airline fees.
• Rental car prices, which were one of the few travel products raising prices lat year, should rise another five percent this year, according to consultant Neil Abrams.
• Lodging may still be the best bargain in travel with room rates tumbling nine percent last year in a drop that should continue.
