Qantas extends NSW tourism partnership
Qantas has extended its long time partnership with the New South Wales government to boost tourism.
It follows two previous tourism promotion agreements over the past six years.
A newly signed Memorandum of Understanding will cover key domestic and international markets including New Zealand, North America, the UK, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, China and Hong Kong.
"We are delighted to be continuing this partnership with Qantas. More than 90 campaigns were delivered over the duration of the 2016-2019 MOU, generating more than $129 million in overnight visitor expenditure," said minister for tourism Stuart Ayres.
The minister expects the partnership to help the state reach $55 billion in overnight visitor expenditure by 2030.
The airline is the largest private investor in Australian tourism, according to Qantas domestic CEO, Andrew David.
"As the national carrier, we know the importance of tourism in Australia and the value of partnerships like this to the tourism industry and the state economy."
