Qantas names new International CEO
Chief financial officer Tino La Spina will take over as Qantas International’s new chief executive.
La Spina officially takes over on October 1 2019 at the end of the current fiscal year and replaces previous CEO, Alison Webster who recently announced her resignation.
"Tino has been with Qantas for 13 years in a series of senior finance roles, which has given him a detailed understanding of what drives results in each part of the group," said Group CEO Alan Joyce.
La Spina has held the CFO role since 2014 and previously served as executive manager, finance and commercial for Qantas loyalty and strategy general manager.
The CFO position vacated by La Spina’s promotion will be filled by Vanessa Hudson, who currently serves as Qantas Group’s chief customer officer.
Hudson moves to her new position in mid-May, initially alongside La Spina to ensure a seamless handover.
Hudson has spent 24 years at Qantas serving in a variety of roles including head of inflight services and region chief for the US.
Meanwhile, Alan Joyce announced he will remain in the top job as Group CEO for at least another three years.
