Qantas pilot refuses to take off
A Qantas pilot has refused to take off because a sink on his Boeing 767 was blocked by coffee grounds with the flight departing from Sydney once the ground crew found the problem and fixed it, The Melbourne Herald Sun reported.
The pilot’s action came a few weeks after a Qantas Boeing 747 lost electrical power en route to Bangkok because of a water spill. The pilots were able to land the plane using backup batteries.
A union official said Qantas has issued stricter guidelines for pilots and flight attendants on dealing with liquids on board.
A report on the incident on the 747 is expected within two weeks.
