Qantas posts ‘frustrating’ AUD1.28 billion loss

Qantas’ CEO Alan Joyce bemoaned a ‘frustrating’ six months after reporting half-yearly losses of $1.28 billion before tax.

A ‘sharp rebound’ in late 2021 was shortlived, Joyce said because of the emergence of the Omicron variant. The uncertainty over Omicron carried into January 2022.

Qantas will not pay annual executive bonuses in 2022 for the third year in a row.
