Qantas reviving Papua New Guinea flights from Sydney
Qantas is restarting Papua New Guinea flights from Sydney.
The resumption of flights to Port Moresby are in part thanks to rugby league.

Qantas will resume Sydney-Port Moresby flights from March 2026.
They join existing flights to Port Moresby from Brisbane.
The route will commence with twice‑weekly service on Boeing 737 jets.
It adds more than 30,000 seats a year.
Qantas is banking on a surge in demand ahead of and when PNG joins the league.
“The preparation work alone is generating travel, and once the team starts playing and fans and teams are travelling for matches, we expect that to increase significantly,” said Cam Wallace, Qantas CEO International.
“It’s great to have this service back and give customers more options.”
