Qatar increases baggage allowance from September

Thursday, 21 Aug, 2013 0

Qatar Airways is to increase its baggage allowance to 30kg from September 1.

The economy allowance has increased from 23 to 30kg while business and first class have increased from 30kg to 40kg and 40kg to 50kg respectively.

But the increased weight allowance does not apply when travelling to points that are regulated by per-piece allowance.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker. "The number of customers we see travelling for longer periods of time, whether for business or on holiday, reflects the necessity for increased baggage allowance no matter their destination."

Excess Baggage rates will also increase in September.

The airline opened its flagship high-street ticket office earlier last month in the Harrods, Knightsbridge.
