Qatar introduces e-ticketing from UK
Qatar Airways is scrapping paper tickets from the UK next month as it moves towards a worldwide e-ticketing system.
The UK will be among the first of the carrier’s 70 destination cities to get electronic ticketing. It will be introduced on April 1 for all flights departing from May 1.
Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker said e-ticketing will help reduce costs.
“Electronic ticketing will greatly improve processes for both passengers and Qatar,” he said.
“The benefits are substantial. For passengers it means faster check-in, easier processing through airports and eliminating the risk of losing tickets. For the airline, it eliminates the need for paper tickets and will reduce costs significantly.”
