Quantum of the Seas will remain in Asia this year
Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas will continue cuising in Asia for most of this year after the cruise line scrapped its deployment in Alaska this summer.
It is leaving the ship in Asia where it is currently sailing short ‘cruises to nowhere’ out of Singapore.
It announced the change in a note to travel agents.
"As you know, Quantum of the Seas resumed operations in Singapore last month. Her success has prompted the decision to keep the ship in the Asia-Pacific region through the summer months and, therefore, we will be suspending Quantum of the Seas’ 2021 Alaska season," it said.
It was due to relocate to Seattle.
That leaves three ships – Ovation of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, and Radiance of the Seas cruising Alaska this summer.
Impacted passengers can take a 125% future cruise credit or request a refund.
"Our primary goal continues to be a seamless and healthy return to service; we’re hyper-focused on welcoming you back," the line said.
