Queen Mary 2 mutiny pays off
Cunard Line after continuing passenger complaints backed off from half price discounts and decided to offer Queen Mary 2 passengers full refunds.
Engine propulsion problems led to the ship sailing from New York and Fort Lauderdale to Rio de Janeiro to cut three calls from its itinerary.
Some passengers objected to the initial offer of a half-price refund.
“We had initially hoped that all our guests would have found much to enjoy during this liner voyage,“ Cunard said in a statement, adding that was not the case for a “significant number of people.”
“In particular, we recognize that the mood onboard may have further contributed adversely to our guests’ experience,” the ship line added.
