Rail industry veteran steps down
Association of Train Operating Companies head of distribution operations Mike Lamb is leaving the rail industry after 39 years.
He quits ATOC on July 1 to emigrate to Canada.
Lamb said: “I have experienced many wonderful times during my railway career and I have made a variety fo exceptional friends in the travel agency business. Travel has certainly broadened by horizons and also my mind.
“I leave the industry probably at its busiest time, with over one billion passengers travelling each year, and as the strategic palling passes to the Department for Transport, I am sure the railways will continue to contribute signifiucantly to the economy during the next 10 years. I am also confident the travel trade will paly a major part in the expected growth.”
