Rank Group shares wobble
Travel and tourism shares generally had a poor day yesterday as London’s equity markets slumped.
The benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped some 50.8 points to close at 4433.2, while the FTSE 250 falling 59.8 points to end the day at 6099.3.
Rank Group suffered on fears that new gaming rules could allow American casino operators enter the UK marketplace; the stock fell 18.75p to close at 285.5 – a drop of around 6.5 per cent on the day.
Other significant moves included First Choice, down 6p to 118p, and Lastminute.com, down 6.5p at 180.5p.
