‘Real’ holidaymaker reviews to appear on operator website
Hayes & Jarvis is to post independent TripAdvisor reviews of all its featured hotels on its own website.
The long haul firm claims it will be the first UK operator to provide the service when it goes live next month but did not say whether critical reviews will be filtered out.
Each of the featured hotels will display TripAdvisor‘s independent rating, which ranges from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) and will list the five most recent reviews taken from the TripAdvisor website.
The average score for the hotels featured by Hayes & Jarvis is no less than 4, according to the operator.
TripAdvisor hotel ratings will feature on every hotel page on www.hayesandjarvis.co.uk.
By clicking on the overall rating, users can read the first 50 words of the most recent reviews. Clicking on the titles of those reviews will allow them to read any of the reviews in their entirety.
The operator will flag up the TripAdvisor review service in the next edition of its Worldwide brochure and will actively seek reviews from its own client base in the mailers sent to them after their return from holiday.
TripAdvisor brand distribution director Nathan Clapton said: “Real holidaymaker reviews and opinions provide invaluable research for consumers making travel choices and we are committed to making this information available where customers are booking their holidays.”
Hayes & Jarvis managing director Clare Tobin said: “We already know that 23% of holidaymakers consult TripAdvisor before booking and that research by Jupiter indicates that more than 50% of people prefer to trust independent reviews.
“By making the TripAdvisor reviews available on our website, potential customers are provided with an invaluable independent assessment of the hotel that they are considering.
“We want our clients to tell us about their experience and to share their views with other holidaymakers.”
