Record number of new exhibitors for ITB Asia
As ITB Asia opens for its 11th edition, organisers have revealed record breaking attendance again of more than 1,000 exhibitors and over 1,000 quality buyers.
There has been a 20% increase in new exhibitors signing up for this year, underscored by new national tourism organisations exhibiting for the first time.
These include Abu Dhabi, Botswana, Croatia, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, as well as regionally from Fukuoka, Kansai and Rovaniemi.
While Asia once again dominates, Europe has the largest growth in participation with new countries participating for the first time such as the Polish Tourism Organization and Visit Ukraine.
A new programme featuring C-level executive discussions takes place at the Knowledge Theatre with industry leaders from Thomas Cook, SITA, Meituan Travel, Egencia, Six Flags and other major brands.
There is a bigger emphasis on Halal travel again with key speakers from CrescentRating and Halal in Travel sharing insights, and the Halal in Travel – Asia Summit 2018 will focus on ‘Innovation & Technology in the Muslim Travel Space.’
ITB Asia 2018 is also showcasing an expanded MICE & Corporate Hub and a new MICE & Corporate Speed Networking session which was sold out two months ago.
