Regional flights halted as private Cessna crashes
Birmingham Airport was closed from Friday afternoon until lunchtime on Saturday after a Cessna plane crashed landed.
The aircraft was carrying a donor liver for transplant from Belfast and crash-landed on the runway.
Two men were injured, one seriously.
A transplant operation went ahead successfully with the donor organ.
Investigations are underway to find the cause of the crash, which happened in foggy conditions.
Around 80 flights were affected by the airport closure.
