Regulator lifts SpiceJet flight cap
India’s air regulator the DGCA is dropping operating sanctions on SpiceJet.
The 50% cap on SpiceJet flights will be lifted later this month.
After a spate of in-flight safety issues the DGCA ordered the airline to slash its flight schedules by half as the DGCA was not confident SpiceJet could safely operate at full capacity.
This was due to a shortage of technicians and other maintenance issues.
The regulator imposed the ‘regulatory surveillance ’in July.
