Resorts highlighted in new travel trade atlas

Columbus Travel Guides claims to have published its biggest World Travel Atlas designed specifically for the travel industry.

The company issues an updated version every two years in keeping with a policy of constant development and improvement and also to incorporate feedback from users.

The atlas, which costs £29.50, runs to more than 250 pages and claims to pay particular attention to themes and topics of concern to workers in the travel industry which are not covered in conventional versions, according to CTG divsional director Peter Korniczky.

In addition to colour maps, the book offers more than 60 pages of specialist country maps which show resorts and tourism features not featured in usual academic atlases. All pages are colour-coded and cross-referenced, and every entry is indexed.

Korniczky added: “In common with all our titles, the World Travel Atlas has been designed with the needs of the travel trade foremost in mind. Whether clients are asking about cruise routes or Spanish beach resorts, international flight times or European climate patterns, UK ferry links or US airport connections, it is the only atlas professionals will need to find the answers.

“I am very impressed by the scope of subjects, verity of content and cartographic creativity that the editorial team were able to pack into the new edition. It’s wonderful to see an established title continue to develop so well.”
