Ride La Manga with the pros
European sports destination resort, La Manga Club has responded to the growth in cycling participation with new packages aimed at offering cyclists the chance to jump into the saddle while on holiday.
The Spanish resort’s new ‘Best Bike & More’ packages start at €231 per person for three nights and provide guests with a choice of road or mountain bikes to use during their stay with a series of group or guided rides available.
The bikes are provided by the Biking La Manga company, which also runs three weekly group road rides from the resort.
There are two evening group rides (Monday and Wednesday) and the Saturday Grupetto, which in recent weeks has grown to a peloton of about 150 cyclists.
The group rides have been joined in recent weeks by several notable professional cyclists, including top Spanish rider and Murcian son Alejandro Valverde, who finished eighth in this year’s Tour de France and has previously won the Vuelta a Espa-±a, which starts on August 24 in Vilanova de Arousa.
The new packages also include complimentary access to the fitness centre, indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms at Spa La Manga Club, and guests can choose to exchange one day’s cycling for golf, tennis or spa treatments.
