The upscale Ritz Carlton brand plans to make its debut in Mexico City in 2019 with a new 153-room property in the heart of the city’s financial district.

The hotel, being developed with Thor Urbana Capital and Heldan Hotels & Resorts, will form part of the Chapultepec Uno mixed use project in one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers.

Ritz-Carlton Mexico City will occupy floors 36-47 of the 58-story building and will feature signature Ritz Carlton amenities including a Club Lounge and spa.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Thor Urbana Capital and Heldan Hotels & Resorts to expand our presence in the Caribbean and Latin America, particularly in Mexico City – an epicenter of commerce and culture," said Ritz-Carlton COO Herve Humler.

"Mexico remains one of the largest and most important international markets for our company, and we are confident that our legendary Ritz-Carlton service and culture is a perfect match for this vibrant, exciting destination."

Marriott-owned Ritz Carlton currently operates 90 hotels globally with an additional 40 hotel and residential projects under development.
