Rivals consider switching off MyTravel
ABTA Convention Special: Major tour operators are considering taking MyTravel products off sale following the operator’s second profits warning in as many weeks.

“We are monitoring the situation closely and we do have some concerns,” said Fontenla-Novoa. “We will make a decision within the next few days about whether to continue selling MyTravel.
First Choice, which also has a contract with MyTravel, is thought to be considering its position. Lunn Poly, which does not have the same deal with MyTravel, sells very few of its arch-rival’s products.
Meanwhile, Airtours chairman David Crossland pulled out of the ABTA Convention to concentrate on reviving the fortunes of his flagging company. He was due to be a main speaker, but was been replaced by Thomas Cook’s Alan Stewart (see: JMC an expensive waste – some might say).
