River cruise operator CroisiEurope has announced an excursion to the beaches of Normandy to mark the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

Available from January 2014, the daytrip will be offered as an optional excursion to passengers on several of CroisiEurope’s most popular itineraries along the Seine.

Gabrielle Alam, CroisiEurope’s UK head of sales and marketing, said: "The Second World War has had a lasting impact on Europe to this day, from architecture to politics. Unsurprisingly, public interest in this period of turmoil and upheaval is very high."

The Normandy landing excursion must be pre-booked and will cost from €93 per person.

The trip will be available to customers travelling on any of the following CroisiEurope itineraries: From Paris to the Normandy Coast (five-day cruise from Paris to Honfleur), The Seine valley and its meanders (seven-day cruise between Honfleur and Paris), The inviting Seine Valley (eight-day cruise round trip from Paris) and The valley of the Seine (five-day cruise round trip from Paris).
