Peter Deilmann River & Ocean Cruises has agreed commercial terms to expand its distribution through the Advantage Travel Centres consortium of 750 agents.
It is the first time the company has worked with an agency consortium in the UK.
UK head of sales Claire Hancer said: “Since April 2007 we have grown our sales through the trade by 20% as we have actively pursued our plan of building strategic partnerships with agency groups as well as specialist independents.
“The deal with Advantage is the first consortium agreement we have signed and will bring a greater awareness of the unique traditional luxury experience that can only be found on a Peter Deilmann river cruise.
“The partnership also offers the Advantage agents an excellent opportunity to sell a luxury product in a rapidly growing river cruise sector.
“Over the coming months we want to build on the agreement with Advantage as well as strengthening relationships across the trade by offering a new programme of agent training.”
Advantage commercial director Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “It’s the first time Peter Deilmann Cruises has signed an agreement with a consortium and we are delighted that Advantage members have been given this unique opportunity.”
