Royal Caribbean appoints new Australia and NZ managing director
Gavin Smith is returning down under to lead Australia and NZ operations for RCL’s three brands.
He replaces Susan Bonner who is returning to the Miami HQ.
Smith spent the past four years leading strategy in the Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle Eastern markets for Royal Caribbean International.
"We are excited to welcome Gavin back to his home market after a successful term leading our international team,’ said Royal Caribbean International CEO Michael Bayley.
Smith started out as the managing director of Royal Caribbean’s first Sydney office back in 2008.
Smith’s first task was to unveil its line-up for the 2019-2020 season as Radiance of the Seas arrives in Sydney.
The ship will embark on 21 South Pacific and New Zealand sailings.

The company will offer more than 80 sailings on a total of five ships, iwhich also include the Ovation of the Seas, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Solstice and the Azamara Journey.
