Royal Caribbean loses UK-based market planning head
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s UK-based international market planning regional vice-president is leaving the company.
Weybridge-based Sarah Newman has decided not to take up an offer to relocate to the Miami head office due to family commitments.
The cruise line is transferring the role to the corporate head office in the US “in order to maximise its effectiveness within the global business”.
Newman, who joined the company two years ago, will leave at the end of March.
A replacement for the role, which oversees the development and co-ordination of core growth markets including their ship deployments, financial performance, distribution and operations capability, branding, marketing and PR, has yet to be announced.
Senior vice president, international Michael Bayley said: "Sarah has brought strong commercial, international and executive skills to both her previous role in the Europe, Middle East and Africa business, and now as part of the senior management of the International team.
“I thank her and wish her, and her family, well for the future. Sarah leaves the international function in a very a strong position allowing an easy transition to leadership from our corporate head office in Miami."
