Royal Caribbean relocates management role to Miami

Friday, 03 Apr, 2009 0

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is transferring the role of regional vice president, international market planning, to the corporate head office in Miami in order to maximise its effectiveness within the global business.

The role was previously based in the UK office of the cruise line, in Weybridge, Surrey.

Sarah Newman, currently the regional vice president, international market planning, has decided not to relocate to Miami due to her family commitments and will be leaving Royal Caribbean Cruise Line at the end of March 2009.

Sarah Newman joined Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in January 2007 as commercial director and then regional vice president for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. She has held the international market planning role since summer 2008 when the structure of the business changed to reflect the growing significance of major markets around the world. Newman has been at the centre of driving significant growth and penetration in both the EMEA and more recently, international, regions.

The new international corporate structure has seen Royal Caribbean Cruise Line open new offices in key growth markets such as China and Australia in the last few months. Plus, teams supporting the international structure around the world have been supplemented in order to optimise the growth potential in identified markets such as the UK and Ireland, and Latin America.

A replacement for the role, which oversees the development and co-ordination of core growth markets including their ship deployments, financial performance, distribution and operations capability, branding, marketing and PR, has yet to be announced.
