Royal Caribbean reveals age of its new-to-cruise customers
Royal Caribbean claims the average age of its adult first-time cruisers is just 42, which is 13 years below the industry average.
The cruise line said it expects its passenger numbers to grow 63% over the next five years, fuelled by families who make up a quarter of its overall guests.
Latest Royal Caribbean figures also showed that last year group bookings made up of friends and family accounted for 20% of all passengers, and 32% of those were new-to-cruise.
It said growth from the new-to-cruise market is expected to remain strong for 2017 as 48% of non-cruisers had expressed an interest in taking an ocean cruise in CLIA’s most recent Cruise Industry Outlook.
