Royal Caribbean suspends SkyPad bungee amid injury lawsuit
Royal Caribbean has shut down the SkyPad bungee trampoline shipboard experience pending a safety review.
The closure comes after a guest filed a lawsuit after falling onto the desk when ropes connected to the harness snapped.
Casey Holladay, 25 fractured his pelvis in February and the Mariner of the Seas turned around so he could receive medical attention in Miami.
The lawsuit is seeking damages of $75,000.
The accident was caught on cellphone footage.
The cruise line confirmed its temporary closure on Twitter in response to inquiries by guests seeking answers to why the attraction was closed.
"We are currently conducting a review as part of our commitment to safety," it said.
The activity was available on Mariner of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas.
The activity offers a virtual reality bungee experience with VR headsets.
