Ryanair adds 11 routes from Liverpool
Ryanair will increase its number of destinations from Liverpool to 32 in the autumn with the launch of 11 routes.
From October 3, John Lennon Airport will serve Aberdeen, Inverness, Alghero and Ancona in Italy, Kaunas in Lithuania, Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw in Poland, Santander and Santiago in Spain and Tampere in Finland.
All will operate three times weekly except the Scottish routes that will get a daily service and Tampere that will operate four times a week.
The low cost carrier said the routes will create 600 jobs in the region, bring an additional 600,000 passengers to the region and add £80 million to the economy.
“Since we launched our base at John Lennon Airport in November 2004, traffic has increase eightfold,” said deputy chief executive Michael Cawley.
Meanwhile, Ryanair recorded a growth in traffic during March of 17%, taking carryings to just over three million.
Load factors climbed from 79% to 80%.
