Ryanair opening new Copenhagen base
Ryanair is set to open a new aircraft base in Copenhagen from December 2023.
It will base two aircraft there, creating up to 100 direct jobs for pilots, cabin crew and engineers.
Ryanair is currently the third largest airline, operating Copenhagen flights on 20 routes.
It carries 2.3 million passengers to/from Copenhagen annually.
Copenhagen becomes Ryanair’s second Danish base after Billund.
Ryanair’s winter 2023 schedule at Copenhagen will offer 24 routes.
It will launch Copenhagen flights to Dusseldorf, Faro, Paris and Warsaw.
In addition, Ryanair will increase frequencies to Gdansk and Krakow.
It expects annual traffic to grow to almost 3 million passengers.
In 2023/2024, Ryanair expects to carry 184 million passengers, up 24% from its pre Covid traffic.
As well as its two aircraft base in Billund, Ryanair offers flights to Danish airports Aalborg and Aarhus.
To celebrate, the airline has launched a Danish seat sale with 50,000 seats available from just 229DKK one way, if booked by 24 August.
It is valid for travel between 1 November until 10 December 2023.
