Ryanair sells seats to Leaning Tower of….France
Ryanair has faced a ribbing from travel agents and members of the public after it misplaced the Leaning Tower of Pisa in its Bank Holiday ad campaign.
The budget airline advertised fares to the Italian city from £9.99 one-way in its ‘Great British Take-Off sale’ on Facebook, launched last Friday. However, it said the fares were available to Pisa in France, not Italy.
Several customers spotted the gaffe and one wrote on Ryanair’s official website: "Tower of Pisa is now in France?" and a witty agent added: "That’s probably where the plane lands anyway."
Another tweeted: "I realise this Ryanair flight is cheap, but I would like to feel a little more confident that you know where you are going."
