Ryanair voted fourth most unloved brand in the UK

Tuesday, 18 Feb, 2015 0

Ryanair has dismissed a survey which rated it as the fourth ‘most unloved’ brand in the UK.

Despite its attempts to become more customer friendly, the airline found itself sitting alongside the likes of Ukip, McDonald’s, Starbucks and Marmite in the top 10 most hated brands in the UK (see full list below).

In its response, Ryanair said: "It’s amazing what some companies will do for free advertising. The 1,500 people that took part in this ‘survey’ – conducted by an advertising agency – would fill 8 of the 1,600 flights we operate every day.

"YouGov is the authoritative source for what UK consumers feel and think about different brands, where we have seen a 30% improvement year on year."

The top 10 ‘most unloved’ brands in the UK, according to the poll, were:

1. Ukip
2. The Conservative Party
3. Marmite
4. Ryanair
5. Labour
6. Liberal Democrats
7. McDonald’s
8. Starbucks
9. Facebook
10. KFC

Meanwhile, no travel brands made it into the top 10 most loved brands in the UK.

The list reads as follows:

1. Amazon
2. Cadbury
3. Walkers
4. Heinz
5. BBC One
6. Google
7. Kellogg’s
8. Boots
9. Tesco
10. ITV
